To provide accurate, accessible, and timely election services to the residents of Everett.

What We Do

The Elections Department administers local, state, and federal elections; maintains voter registration records; processes Vote by Mail and absentee ballot applications; certifies nomination papers and petitions; conducts the annual city census and street list; and provides proof of residency and notary services.

Vote on Election Day

 Vote in person at your assigned polling place on Election Day. Polls are open from 7 AM to 8 PM.

Early voting allows registered voters to cast their ballot before Election Day during designated dates and times. When early voting is available, the schedule and locations will be posted here.

Vote by Mail

Any registered Massachusetts voter may vote by mail in state elections, state primaries, presidential primaries, and most local elections. You can apply online, by mail, or by submitting a signed application to the Elections Department.

How do I know if I'm registered to vote?

Can I vote by mail?

Yes. Any registered Massachusetts voter may vote by mail in state elections, state primaries, presidential primaries, and most local elections.

Can I still vote in person if I requested a mail ballot?

Yes, as long as your returned mail ballot has not already been accepted.

Where do I vote?

Your polling place depends on your home address. Use the polling place lookup tool or contact the Elections Department for assistance.

When are polls open?

Polling places are open from 7 AM to 8 PM on Election Day unless otherwise announced.
