Sidewalk Improvement Program Paves a Clear Path - Mayor Carlo DeMaria Jr. stops in on the City Services crew last week as they begin the Sidewalk Improvement Program. This year City Services will take on the bulk of repairs to our City’s walkways. Mayor DeMaria initiated the program two years ago, training the City Services crew to complete the repairs. With experience under their belt, the crew is looking to complete as many repairs possible over the summer months. (read more)

FIRE AND WATER DEPARTMENT TO START HYDRANT WORK - Fire Chief David Butler and Glen Doherty, Superintendent of the Water Department will begin initial work on all city fire hydrants starting this week. The Fire Department is testing the city’s fire hydrants to ensure they are in compliance and ensure all hydrants are functioning properly. (read more)

Among its multitude of responsibilities, the City Services Department maintains the Citys' streets, sidewalks, and traffic systems for the protection of the public's safety. It maintains all city parks, playgrounds, and street trees, as well as Glenwood Cemetery and public buildings so as to improve the quality of life for all the citizens of Everett. The department oversees the proper collection and disposal of solid waste as well as the recycling of various materials.
