Upcoming Events at the Council on Aging.

  • Everett Foundation for Aged Persons, Inc. donates for Elder Services Mayor Carlo DeMaria, Jr. and Carolyn Lightburn are pleased to accept a generous donation from the Everett Foundation for Aged Persons, Inc. The Office of Human Services and the Council on Aging serve the elderly population in the City of Everett. The Everett Senior Center is one of the most active in the area and has numerous activities that are enjoyed by many Elders. On any given day, a Senior may participate in the exercise programs, attend community education seminars, have lunch at the meal site, play bingo, see a movie and much more. (read more)
  • SOMETHING NEW AT THE CONNOLLY CENTER
    MONTHLY DIABETES SUPPORT GROUP
    Please join Mayor Carlo DeMaria’s Council on Aging and MT CAREGIVERS for a monthly Diabetes support group. The group will meet the second Tuesday of each month beginning with Tuesday March 9, 11am at The Connolly Center. Christine O’Toole from Neighborhood Diabetes and Theresa Burns from MT Caregivers will evaluate and assess the needs of the group. PARTICIPATION IS IMPORTANT ! Free refreshments will be served.   • Senior Center Hosts Annual Health Fair
    Mayor Carlo DeMaria Jr and The Council on Aging invite you to attend its annual Health Fair on Thursday March 11, 2010 at The Connolly Center 90 Chelsea St from 10am until 2pm. Participants at this event include, Cambridge Health Alliance, Dr Brian Leahy, MT Care Givers, Mary Yebba, a representative from the FDA, Everett Nursing and Rehab, Hospice Massachusetts, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Scleroderma Foundation, Mass Coalition for the Blind, City of Everett Health Department, Joint Committee for Children’s Health Care, The Law office of Spano & Dawicki (specializing in elder law), The Atria Maplewood Place and more. Bring your questions for the professionals that specialize in elder care. There will be Free blood screenings for diabetes and cholesterol, demonstrations, and valuable information for seniors and their caregivers.   • MARCH SENIOR SOCIAL
    Mayor Carlo DeMaria’s Council on Aging is happy to announce it’s annual celebration of the “Wearin’ Of The Green” at the monthly senior social, Wednesday March 17th at The Connolly Center. The social will feature a traditional St Patrick’s Day meal of corned beef and cabbage complete with Irish Bread, dessert and dancing to Everett’s own
    “The Swingers” ticket sales will be March 9, 10 & 11th in The Council on Aging Office. For more information please call Dale at 617 394 2323
